Biopile - Soil Treatment Services
FromSanexen
Sanexen uses biopile technology to reduce hydrocarbon concentrations in excavated soil. More than 1,000,000 metric tonnes of soils have been successfully treated using this method, at times in challenging conditions such as those in Northern Canada. Biopile technology has proven highly instrumental in achieving optimal cost-effectiveness.

biodegradation
This technology draws on aerobic biodegradation to form treatment piles or “cells”, stimulating the microbial population already present in the soil. Stimulation is accomplished by increasing moisture and adding nutrients such as nitrogen and phosphorus to the soil. Through aerobic microbial activity, petroleum-based compounds adsorbed in soil particles are broken down, reducing their concentrations.
