The holistic InnoEnergy business creation concept has been developed to take into account the newest approaches and best practices to foster innovation and turn knowledge into assets. It facilitates the added value process of turning ideas into solutions and into products. Following this general aim the innovation model uses a simplified innovation process with revolving phases: exploration, selection, implementation and exploitation. Different mechanisms, tools and measures have been carefully designed to support the development of each of the phases and foster innovation through the whole innovation alliance.

A leading principle was the integrative power of the items defined in order to link the stakeholders of the knowledge triangle closely and to facilitate interplay with the overall strategy and education and technology concept (i.e. through Explore House). The mechanisms, tools and measures will be implemented at KIC-level, CC-level or both.
