Calculating CO2 Emissions Services
The calculation system of CO2 equivalent (CO2eq) emissions is a unique and innovative instrument for measuring the environmental performances of waste management systems and will be implemented in 25 European states.
By implementing this calculation system in Romania, Eco-Rom Ambalaje will enable each partner company to learn the environmental benefits generated by the recovery and recycling activities in terms of CO2 emissions reduction.
Additional to the monthly reports on recovery and recycling target achievements, starting with 2014, Eco-Rom Ambalaje will provide its clients annually with complete and consistent information on each company’s contribution to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions based on the waste management system used.
This report will contribute significantly to the viability, accuracy, and completeness of environmental information and to your company’s reputation within ECO-friendly consumers.
This system is focused on providing an appropriate and “up-to-date” methodology to calculate emission factors by taking into consideration all specific characteristics for each packaging waste management system, and on optimizing and adjusting calculations based on which the CO2eq emissions are reduced due to implementing the packaging waste management systems.
On a national level, the implementation of this system enables each country the possibility to calculate the reduction of CO2eq emissions resulted from specific recycling and recovery activities compared to the production of those recycled/ recovered materials from raw virgin materials.
