Consulting Engineering Services For Data Centers
LSG&A provides acoustical consulting engineering services for new and existing data centers including emergency generators, dry coolers, chillers, condensers, load banks, transformers, and rooftop equipment. LSG&A services for data centers including predicting sound levels at property lines from new equipment, measuring sound levels from existing equipment, preparing noise control for equipment to meet State and local noise regulations. Our extensive list of data center clients include BT Radianz, Verizon Wireless, Johnson and Johnson, Mercedes Benz, BMW of North America, Switch and Data, and others. LSG&A also has extensive experience evaluating emergency generator noise on over 170 applications throughout the United States.
LSG&A’s experience includes developing noise models, providing recommendations for noise control, preparing acoustical specifications for noise control or equipment, performing pre- and post-installation sound pressure level measurements, and providing expert testimony for permitting. LSG&A designs acoustical recommendations for generators in enclosures, as well as generators inside buildings. Representative data center projects are shown below.
- Performed sound level measurements from existing emergency generators and drycoolers
- Completed an evaluation of the proposed five new 3 MW emergency generators, and over 60 pieces of rooftop equipment including drycoolers, condensers, and rooftop air conditioning units.
- Prepared noise control measures for the new generator enclosures and a rooftop barrier to reduce the sound levels from the rooftop equipment.
- Performed compliance testing to verify the property line sound levels from the rooftop equipment.
