Culture and Local Recruitment
Dawnus prides itself on its culture of recruiting and developing its employees, and we always aim to recruit from the local area on our projects. Dawnus operates a regional structure that allows us to provide employees with work as close as possible to where they live. Projects and employees are assigned to a regional division of the company, and employees will generally only work on projects in their region, and will not usually be brought in from outside, except in some cases where there are special operational requirements. We believe that this approach brings many benefits to both the company and our employees, including reduced cost and travel to work, improving the work/life balance of employees, and reducing our impact on the environment. Our approach also means that, when there is a need for recruitment on a project, we will recruit new employees from the local area. When a new project brings opportunities for employment to an area, the opportunities will be for long term employment and development, rather than temporary employment while the project is active.
We have adopted this approach on our international projects; we have recruited and trained over 1,000 people in Africa and are working to provide local people with training. We believe that investing in developing the skills of local people will help to bring lasting and positive development to their lives and their communities
