Dredging Environmental Management Services
360 Environmental can provide clients with environmental advice and management of services on all aspects of dredge planning, monitoring and management. Impacts from dredging and other infrastructure developments are often at the forefront of community concerns regarding large scale projects in the marine environment. Assessment and monitoring of these impacts remains a legislative and licensing imperative, and can represent a significant component of project monitoring costs.Sea transport is an important part of Western Australia’s economy. Our ports and harbours will generally from time to time require maintenance dredging to maintain shipping channels or capital dredging for expansion. If not managed correctly, dredging has the potential to alter turbidity levels, pH and/or nutrient levels of surrounding waters which may in turn result in environmental impacts. The assessment of re-use and/or disposal options of dredge spoil also requires appropriate analysis to ensure that material removed through dredging works is managed in accordance with appropriate State and Federal environmentalguidelines.
360 Environmental and Marine Monitoring
360 Environmental can offer a multi-disciplined team who can address contemporary marine monitoring requirements, meeting the needs of the Project and the expectations of the community, whilst delivering on excellent environmental outcomes. Studies can include: The marine component of the works mayinvolve:
- Hydrodynamic modelling e.g. Plume Dispersion Modelling
- Coastal Processes Investigations
- Baseline Studies - Marine Habitat Studies, Sediment Sampling, Benthic Habitat Mapping, Water Quality and Marine Fauna Surveys
- Dredge Monitoring Program and Dredge Environmental Management Plan
- Noise Management and Contamination Investigations.
Baseline monitoring has traditionally been undertaken using diver-based methods but these surveys havesignificant Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) challenges and are resource intensive. Our diver-free survey methods are appropriately designed to detect the relative change resulting from anthropogenicactivities.
Diver-free Coral Monitoring
The team couples a high quality diver-free coral and benthic monitoring program, with a leading marine environmental science and marine logistics team. Our interactive team approach promotes informed decision-making based on statistically robust methods aimed at improving the assessment of a wide range of impacts on our marine environment. Our team of marine ecologists, statisticians, software specialists in automated image analysis, spatial database system managers, and experienced field marine logistics specialists provides an integrated and holistic capability across the resources and port development sectors. Our team is capable of designing and safely delivering an appropriate and efficient means of mapping andmonitoring potentially sensitive coastal and marine benthic habitats tailored to our Client needs. Our seamless operations creates a focused, strategic, timely and transparent service that saves our clients time and money while ensuring delivery of a high quality product on time, every time.
Experience
360 Environmental has an excellent track record in the investigation and management of pre, during and post dredge operations. 360 Environmental recognises the importance of client project planning requirements and strives to provide innovative, situation-specific solutions which best address environmental requirements and meet or exceed client expectations.
