Environmental Representation/Coordination/Management

Proper coordination is essential to any environmental or development project’s success. Historically, this coordination role has been assigned to task-specific contractors (e.g., design group, soil contractor etc.), who may get “lost among the trees”, or to the corporate environmental professionals themselves. While the modern day corporate environmental professionals are qualified, they often have a portfolio of sites that requires constant involvement to successfully complete each project. It is in support of this group of corporate professionals that C2 REM was founded in 1995.

C2 REM’s approach to environmental representation, coordination and management includes:

  • Quantifying client liabilities and costs by prioritizing the sites where cost growth risks are greatest then providing services as needed to reduce those risks.
  • Assisting in and directing negotiations with regulatory agencies and/or Potentially Responsible Parties (PRPs) to promote flexibility in interpreting Administrative Orders and Consent Decrees (or other equivalent directives)
  • Managing the activities of contractors and consultants thereby controlling costs and reducing inefficiency.

In addition to C2 REM’s consulting experience, our senior staff also has experience as environmental agency managers and/or as corporate environmental managers. We bring this comprehensive perspective to each project thus providing an all-in-one environmental coordination, representation, and management approach to owners and prospective purchasers of impacted properties (see Management Project Philosophy below). C2 REM’s goal is to develop partnerships with inhouse corporate environmental professionals to solve issues and meet project and corporate objectives. Similarly, we work to forge effective and productive working relationships with agency representatives so that project solutions are viewed positively by the client and/or owner, the agency(s), and members of the surrounding community.
