With knowledge gained from biological surveys comes the ability to protect the environment before, during and after development. Biological consulting staff at ENV are able to design, implement and manage biological surveys consistent with EPA Guidance Statement No. 51 (Terrestrial Flora and Vegetation Surveys for Environmental Impact Assessment in Western Australia). In addition to the need for baseline botanical survey work associated with land disturbance for major projects, new clearing legislation has focused on the need to obtain specific approval in all instances where native vegetation may be cleared or disturbed. These regulations were implemented to control and minimise the destruction of native flora and vegetation.
