Geotechnical Engineering

SHARE
This subject is devoted to the transmission of forces from buildings to the subsoil, including the equilibrium of forces between buildings embedded in the soil and their environment; it also deals specifically with the characteristics of soil as a construction material. Our geotechnical department has substantial experience in managing complex projects both in Germany and abroad. The range of our projects spans individual dwellings, tunnels, dams and embankments, roads and railways, bridges and retaining walls, channels, pipelines and airports. Our specialist geotechnical department emerged from the previous `Institute for soil and foundation engineering` created in 1968, and has thus been in existence for the last 45 years.
