NLS has played a significant role in Wisconsin’s groundwater monitoring program since its inception. Beginning in 1975 we installed and sampled over 250 monitoring wells in conjunction with Wisconsin’s Inland Lake Renewal program. By the mid-1980s we were sampling landfill, spray irrigation, and lagoon sites, and had developed a streamlined, efficient sampling method that minimizes pre-filtration metals oxidation prior to filtration and acid preservation upon collection. Our methods were soon incorporated into Wisconsin DNR’s formal groundwater monitoring protocol.
NLS field crews presently monitor about 1350 wells and lysimeters at 80 licensed sites in Wisconsin and Michigan. We have monitored 35 of these sites continuously for 20 to 28 years Our clients recognize the value of precise, dependable groundwater data, and we are pround to have earned their confidence in the value of our monitoring program.
