Indoor Air Quality and Microbial Related Services
LCA utilizes Certified Industrial Hygienists (CIH) with extensive experience in the evaluation of indoor environments and industrial hygiene technicians to perform Indoor Air Quality Investigations. Typically the purpose of the investigations is to evaluate conditions within the building and compare the findings to existing guidelines. Our report will include an assessment of the building conditions, the analytical data, and our recommendations (as necessary) for improving the indoor air quality conditions.
In addition LCA performs a variety of microbial related services. LCA can provide a microbial investigation that includes, as appropriate, the investigation, sampling, identification, and assessment for microbiological contamination. A trained professional with demonstrated experience in mold will assess the current condition of the property. A limited evaluation is performed to identify all visible and obvious mold contamination found in the building. Source sampling for potential mold contamination can be performed in order to identify signature organisms and develop a comprehensive and effective Remediation Plan. LCA will design a site-specific mold remediation plan based on the results found in the microbial investigation. The plan includes a detailed description of the scope of work and include also: information regarding project coordination, site-specific remediation guidelines and procedures, site sampling strategies and protocols, as well as all general conditions.
Following the commencement of the mold remediation activities, LCA can provide a Project Remediation Manager to perform the third party oversight, full time during the remediation process. This involves all third-party oversight to insure the remediation contractor complies with all Federal, State and Local guidelines in addition to any project plans and specifications. Upon completion of remediation activities, LCA will conduct a final inspection to ensure that all dust and visible debris have been removed properly. In addition, LCA will perform post remediation sampling to provide documentation that will help interpret whether the work area can be released.
Due to the increased concern regarding the importance to identify potential mold issues before they become a problem, LCA can prepare a Mold Prevention and Response Action program. The purpose of the Mold Prevention and Response Action program is to provide clients with an initial program and general guidelines for minimizing the likelihood of mold infestation as well as providing appropriate response actions if mold growth is discovered. By evaluating a property’s building systems it is possible to assess, prevent, and respond to indoor air quality problems quickly and effectively. Information from previous environmental and engineering reports and surveys, such as Property Condition Assessment (PCA), can be used to evaluate building systems with regard to preventing potential mold growth and contamination.
Microbial services provided by LCA include:
- Investigation, Sampling, Identification, and Assessment
- Preparation & Implementation of Mold Abatement Remediation Plan
- Project Remediation Oversight
- Third Party Air Monitoring, Bulk and/or Clearance Sampling
- Preparation of Mold Prevention & Response Action Plan
