Indoor Air Quality Service

SHARE

We are all heavily exposed to indoor air, as we spend almost 90% of our time in confined spaces, such as buildings or transports.

Moreover, many recent scientific studies show that indoor air is often more polluted than outside ambient air, even in an urban environment. The two main reasons are the appearance of many emissive materials as sources of indoor pollution and an excessive confinement for energy concerns.

There is thus an accumulation of pollutants in confined indoor environments that leads to potentially harmful situations and the development of symptomatic diseases still misunderstood to this day, such as MCS (Multiple Chemical Sensitivity) or "sick building syndrome" and some allergies.

Certech gives you support at two levels :

  1. Global evaluation of the Indoor Air Quality.
    • Our mobile laboratory samples on site various pollutants and analyzes directly the quality of your air according to some "comfort" parameters. We also work with partners such as Visiosense, able to send you measuring kits allowing you to perform the initial diagnosis by yourself. We strive to follow and be operational on all regulatory controls, either at the Belgian or French level (eg, French Decree 2012-14 for indoor air quality of public buildings). Our expertise is also useful to identify origin and causes of odour pollution and assist you in the remediation of proven indoor air problems.
  2. Specific evaluation of materials or systems used indoors.
    • Our laboratory performs emission testings of building materials, automotive materials, household products, air fresheners, etc. ... These tests comply with standards requirements (ISO16000 and AFNOR XP B44-13 mainly) and labels, whether it concerns the assessment of the chemicals emitted or the odors. We also assess emissions in regard to legislations (French Decree on construction products labeling, Construction Product Directive ...) or OEM requirements. Beyond the simple diagnosis and the determination of the studied material contribution, we assist you in the development of less emissive products or formulations.
