The material coming out of the digester will typically contain 30-50% of the fibrous material in the feedstock. These remaining fibers can be mechanically separated for use as animal bedding, soil amendment or compost. There is even a market developing for these fibers as a raw material for manufactured wood products and algae cultivation.
