Off-Farm Revenues Sales Support
Phase 3 Renewables offers sales support services which provide the background and insight needed to make informed decisions about your operation. Services include: Negotiating Energy Interconnection Contracts and Sales Agreements, Establishing and Managing Carbon Emission Credits, Negotiating Biofiber/Fertilizer Sales, Negotiating Co-Feed Tipping Fees. With our market knowledge and strong established working relationships, we can negotiate the best possible deal on your behalf or arm you with sufficient knowledge to negotiate on your own.
Typically, your biogas plant will produce much more energy than needed to replace your current energy usage. The excess energy can be sold to local utilities creating an additional income stream. Phase 3 Renewables can help with the required interconnection contracts and negotiate the sales agreements with the utility companies compelled to purchase this energy.
Controlling greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions is fast becoming a management priority. Analysts predict that even for companies not directly subject to greenhouse gas regulation, significant emissions will eventually increase costs or reduce sales.
By reducing GHG emissions and producing renewable energy, a biogas system creates two opportunities for earning carbon credits. Conventional manure management practices emit large amounts of methane, a GHG contributing to global warming. By capturing and combusting methane, biogas plants greatly reduce these emissions. Further reduction of GHG is achieved by replacing fossil fuel with energy produced from biogas.
Selling these carbon credits creates an opportunity for another income stream for your operation.
Phase 3 Renewables can sell your offsets through multiple channels, long or short term contracts, or specific quantity allocations. We can help sell your credits to private buyers or on an open market, such as the Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX).
As a CCX-registered Offset Aggregator, Phase 3 serves as an administrator and trading representative for you. We can:
- Explain CCX Carbon Trading Program
- Manage the Project Application Process
- Assist in obtaining Project Validations /Verifications
- Assist in Registering Offsets
- Assemble and Submit Project Reports
- Execute Sales and Distribute Proceeds
As a full service provider of renewable energy systems, we`re often approached by companies seeking to purchase credits.
Flexibility in offering offsets coupled with our experience in successful negotiations can help maximize your credit profits.
The material coming out of the digester will typically contain 30-50% of the fibrous material in the feedstock. These remaining fibers can be mechanically separated for use as animal bedding, soil amendment or compost. There is even a market developing for these fibers as a raw material for manufactured wood products and algae cultivation.
We stay on top of these emerging markets and work with you to get the most value for your materials.
Local farmers and other businesses spend resources to rid themselves of their organic wastes. Adding their waste (co-feeds) to your digester increases income two ways:
- generating more energy through increased biogas production
- through payments of co-feed tipping fees (monies paid for taking waste).
For the co-feed provider, disposal costs are reduced, thus creating a win-win deal!
Phase 3 Renewables can help identify possible sources and negotiate prices and contracts with your co-feed providers.
