Personnel Support
Specialist Personnel Support: Mergers, restructuring and the drive to maximise delivery at reduced cost has led to major structural changes in many oil and energy companies. Many are experiencing a shortfall in experienced and skilled oil spill response personnel, putting the industry under severe pressure as it strives to improve its operational efficiency. We have thus increased our capability to provide specialist support for long and short-term periods for Members’ in-country operations.
Long-Term Secondment of Specialist Personnel
The dedicated in-country placement of our personnel to support our Members’ oil spill preparedness and response operations may include capability reviews, equipment selection and warehouse set up, maintenance, training and exercise programmes and government liaison. In 2011, our people have been seconded to locations including Ghana, Kazakhstan, Libya, Russia and the UK.
Short-Term Provision of Specialist Personnel
Our technical personnel can support our Members’ oil spill preparedness operations during E&P activities by supplementing internal resources especially during peak periods or high risk project activities. Many of our Members have used our personnel to supplement their operations teams operating in Australia, the Caspian Sea, Greenland, Indonesia, the Philippines and West Africa.
