The purpose of a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) is to identify recognized environmental conditions (RECs).  Kane Environmental follows the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) Standard E 1527-13, “Standard Practice for Environmental Site Assessments: Phase I Environmental Site Assessment Process."

The Phase I ESA process includes the following tasks:

  1. A site visit and review of the property including a thorough inspection of the property and an evaluation of the surrounding land use;
  2. Interviews with the owner(s) and/or occupant(s) of the property and local government officials for the property;

  4. A review of federal and state environmental regulatory records for the property and the surrounding area; and
