Kane - Phase I Environmental Site Assessments Service
The purpose of a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) is to identify recognized environmental conditions (RECs). Kane Environmental follows the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) Standard E 1527-13, “Standard Practice for Environmental Site Assessments: Phase I Environmental Site Assessment Process."

The Phase I ESA process includes the following tasks:
- A site visit and review of the property including a thorough inspection of the property and an evaluation of the surrounding land use;
- Interviews with the owner(s) and/or occupant(s) of the property and local government officials for the property;
- A review of available historical records, such as aerial photographs and historical maps;
- A review of federal and state environmental regulatory records for the property and the surrounding area; and
- Delivery of a Phase I ESA report detailing the results of all the tasks, including a site plan and photographs.
