Procurement, Expediting & Source Inspection Services
FB&D provides full service Sourcing, Expediting, and Inspection Services. Our staff of Procurement Professionals and Source Inspectors are equipped with latest tools and training to ensure the clients Engineered Equipment, Fabricated Items, and bulk materials will be delivered on time, on budget, as planned. Our automated project procurement system is fully integrated with our engineering, accounting, scheduling, warehouse, and construction services. It is this automation and integration with engineering that enables the entire FB&D organization to be highly productive. Redundant keypunch, clerking, and status information is eliminated by our iPIMS® Procurement System. Even better, this information is available to our clients via a secure site, online-real time – twenty-four hours a day with a simple internet connection.Focus on Front End Planning: Our focus is on early strategic planning to maximize value to our client. Special emphasis is placed on early planning with long lead equipment, steel & pipe fabricators, and field Erected contractors such as tanks and cooling towers.
Construction Industry Institute – Materials Management
We understand that procurement is a core work process to project engineering and construction that starts in early Front End Planning (FEP) and runs through the field warehouse out to disposal of surplus. Early Strategic Planning is fundamental to successful project execution. CII also has a concept referred to as PEpC – Identify Project CRITICAL Procurement and contracts in FEP phase.

Our procurement professionals are experienced in global sourcing requirements. We have relationships with suppliers and fabricators on a global scale to ensure we deliver the best value for our clients.
Source Inspection:
We currently have experience and initiatives to reduce the cost of source inspections by using technology. A few examples:
- Digital cameras allow inspectors to send picture immediately.
- Digital cameras can be mounted in the shops to review progress and perform witness testing.
- Web & Video Conference meetings can be utilized to reduce the need for travel – Pre-Award/Pre-Fab Meetings.
