Resource Recovery Solutions for Oily Recovery from Sludge
Environmentally-friendly; Oil tank cleaning at refineries or lagoons yields an oily sludge which cannot be landfilled without further treatment. Harsco’s oil recovery solution uses a cost-effective and highly efficient technology which is also environmentally compliant.
Breakthrough Technology
Once the sludge is removed during the tank cleaning activity, the ultra-high pressure water treatment process delivers 98% recovery of the oil and produces an inert non-hazardous residue.
When driven through a high pressure reactor, the contaminated material is separated into discrete streams for recovery. The hydro-cleaning process does not suffer from the high energy costs associated with alternative thermal processes.
Reduced Downtime
For the refinery or tank owner, the process allows critical infrastructure to be returned to operation without delay. Our standard plant can be configured to a throughput of 20, 40 or 75 tonnes per hour, depending on operating requirements. This allows a tank turnaround up to 10 days quicker than alternative solutions.
Minimal waste
The waste water generated by the process is recycled back into production.
Small footprint
Owing to its small footprint, the plant is highly mobile and can be sited adjacent to the source material.
