STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING

Structural Design & Rehabilitation:

SLL has a decent structural department run by experienced professional engineers. Our structural engineers project managers have a long experience in the areas of structural design as well as project management. SLL depends on its structural department to work as a complement to our grouting and underpinning department. SLL structural engineers help in assessing the damages to buildings, decision making in rehabilitation buildings, soil structural interaction studies, and supervision of rehabilitation works. Moreover, this department will provide the structural design of footing systems when need be.

Grouting & Underpinning:

In addition to performing the various types of field and laboratory testing, SLL has introduced a new line of work which deals in soil improvement and underpinning using the latest technologies. The underpinning operation consists of either the placement of mini pile system to support the existing foundation or by improving the soil underneath the footing using compaction grouting. Compaction grouting consist of injection a cement grout under a designed pressure to displace loose soil and fill the gaps with cement grout. Underpinning using minipiles consist of drilling holes through existing foundation using small (mini) drills capable of drilling in constructed areas. The holes are then filled with high quality high strength is grout. Saudi labs own its mini drill rigs, mixers pumps and grouting equipment. Our grouting and underpinning department is run by highly qualified and well trained engineers who has a wide experience in this work inside and outside the kingdom.

Corrosion Studies:

Recently, SLL ventured in the field of corrosion studies, our highly qualified team who has a long standing experience in regions such as Australia, south Asia and gulf region, can perform proper corrosion mapping with the proper sampling of concrete and steel, chemical testing of concrete, determination of weak zones and the required proper repair. Moreover, our team has a long experience in supervising cathodic protection projects.

Soil and Rock Mechanics:

SLL has highly experienced and qualified engineers in the fields of soil & rock mechanics. Our engineers are capable of analyzing and evaluating soil and rock mechanics problems such as slope stability, ground improvement and rock sliding.

Foundation Engineering:

SLL has a vast experience in the fields of foundation engineering, our engineering have good experience in the analysis and evaluation of laboratory data for projects such as Residential and Commercial Developments, Roads, Pump Station, Water Tower, Transmission Tower, Highways, Bridges, Interchanges, Airports and Dams. Site Investigation:

SLL provides a full compliment of site investigation services with ten drill rigs having drilling capabilities of:

• Hollow stem augers
• Rotary wash boring
• Down-the-hole hammer
• Diamond coring
• Disturbed and undisturbed sampling
• Standard penetration test

In addition, SLL has seismic and resistivity equipment to handle geologist with high technical competence and wide experience in projects requirements and geological features in Saudi Arabia guided by (SLL) motto of Dependability, Efficiency, and Economy.

SLL has a fully equipped laboratory run by competent staff capable of performing various laboratory tests for the determination of soil parameters for cohesive and cohesionless soils. Moreover, Saudi labs can provide staff and equipment for field testing and quality control of earthwork and concrete work during construction.

SLL owns a fully equipped laboratory for performing tests to determine the suitability of road construction material as well as the suitability of sand, gravel, cement, and asphalt for the design of different types of concrete and asphalt mixes according to the highest standards. Our clients belong to both the private and government sectors. Moreover, we are capable of performing a wide range of laboratory, physical and chemical test on samples of water, agriculture soil, hardened and fresh concrete and asphalt. Our laboratory work extends to the field where our well equipped technicians are capable of performing destructive and non-destructive tests on concrete and asphalt samples using the latest proper equipment.

SLL services extend to the private and government sectors in the field of geological surveys for different types of projects. Our geologists perform the geological survey and prepare the proper geological maps for projects such as roads, damps airports construction material quarries and mineral quarries. This work includes the sampling, preparation and testing of samples. Our geologists are equipped with the proper geophysical instruments such as resistivity meters and seismographs which are required to perform a good job.

SLL extends its services to the field of hydrogeological and hydrological studies. This department is manned with engineers and geologists capable of preparing hydrogeological and hydrological studies, performing pumping tests, determination of water quality, supervision of water well drilling as well as special studies such as water table rise and its effect on structures and dewatering projects using well points and deep wells.
