AirSource Technologies is a source emissions testing company based in the Kansas City metropolitan area. We have been providing stack testing services around the globe since 1990. Our scientists are well-known for their knowledge of compliance and investigative testing methods, their efficient work habits and their ability to adapt to virtually any test scenario. Nearly 80 percent of our business is from repeat customers. They recognize they are dealing with experts in emissions testing who get the job done right, on time, and within budget. Please contact us for your next stack test. You will quickly see why our clients keep coming back.Common Methodologies:
AirSource Technologies has the expertise and resources to perform nearly every source emission reference method currently promulgated. In addition, we have worked with clients and regulators over the years to develop and apply new and innovative methodologies when existing methods prove to be inappropriate or fail to meet test objectives.
- NESHAP ( MACT) EXPERIENCE: 40CFR63
- Organic Hazardous Air Pollutants From the Synthetic Organic Chemical Manufacturing Industry- Subpart F
- Hazardous Waste Combustion - Subpart EEE
- Portland Cement Manufacturing - Subpart LLL
- Secondary Aluminum - Subpart RRR
- Lime Manufacturing - MACT Standard Wool Fiberglass Manufacturing -Subpart NNN
- VOC Leak Detection - Subpart GGG
RCRA Trial Burn, Risk Burn And Comprehensive Performance Testing Expertise:
Under NESHAP (MACT) compliance requirements, AirSource Technologies has developed special expertise in conducting these major, multiparameter compliance test projects over the past 15 years. Emphasizing overall orchestration of the many collaborative phases inherent in these projects, AirSource Technologies commonly conducts all emission testing protocols, coordinates and processes all waste-feed, raw material and related process samples, performs and/or coordinates laboratory analyses, and conducts data reduction, report preparation and quality assurance review requirements.
Visible Emission (Opacity) Expertise:
AirSource Technologies has a wealth of experience in conducting Visible Emission (VE) test programs, typically under the guidelines of New Source Performance Standards (40 CFR, Part 60) and NESHAP (MACT Standards).
Typically employing Method 9 and 22 protocols, our Certified Observers have worked extensively with cement, talc, lime and limestone mining and processing companies around the Midwest wherein Subpart 000 criteria is the governing regulation. We also have experience with flares and other process stack emission measurements.
Industries such as power generators, food processors, asphalt producers and numerous others have called upon our staff to provide both compliance and investigative VE testing services.
Instrument Expertise:
Our instrument systems are well suited for providing continuous evaluation of an emission source. AirSource Technologies has experience:
- Measuring a variety of detection technologies including Magneto Pneumatic, Non-Dispersive Infra Red, Chemiluminescence, and Heated Flame Ionization Detector.
- Measuring various gases, including 02, C02, CO, NOx, S02, and THC.
- Performing RATA services according to performance specifications of CFR 40, Part 60, Appendix B and CFR 40, Part 75 for continuous emission monitoring systems and CFR 40, Part 75, Subpart C, Appendix A, Appendix B (Continuous Emission Monitoring, Operation and Maintenance Requirements).
- Performing Destruction and Removal Efficiency (DRE) Studies, Relative Accuracy Testing (CEMS & PEMS), Calibration Error/Calibration Gas Audits, and Predictive Emission Monitoring System (PEMS) Validation.

Wet Chemistry Stack Sampling Equipment
AirSource Technologies is capable of providing multiple complete sampling trains for all standard CFR 40, Parts 51,60, and 63 methods as well as many specialized trains per client requests. Some examples include Particulate. Dioxin/Furan Compounds, Multiple Metals, Hexavalent Chromium, Volatile Organics (VOST), Semi-Volatile Organics (including PAH`s, pesticides, herbicides, PCB`s, etc.), HCI/CI2/HF (Method 26/26A), Sulfur Compound Speciation (Method 8), Formaldehyde (CARB 430), and many others.
Redundancy of equipment allows for sampling of multiple trains simultaneously, whether for a common constituent at both inlet and outlet of pollution control devices, or for several different constituents at the same time. In addition, redundancy provides time saving backup of key equipment should an instrument fail in the field.
- Nutech Model 2010 - Method 5 stack sampling systems
- Multiple Sampling Probes - varying lengths (3 ft., 5 ft., 7 ft., 10 ft., 20 ft.), including water-cooled models for high temperature operations
- VOST Sampling Trains
- In-Stack Filter Apparatus (Method 17);both Teflon-lined, glass and stainless steel
- Hydrochloric acid/chloride ion train (midget)
- Hexavalent chromium train
- PM10/PM 2.5 Cyclones (Particulate matter less than 2.5 or 10 micron)
