Structural Steel/Weld Inspection & Testing Services
GROUND can provide a broad range of structural steel testing, observation and inspection. We have an in-house staff of certified weld inspectors (CWI). GROUND’s structural steel department is led by two degreed welding engineers. Our in-house staff is experienced and familiar with the utilization of numerous testing codes and specifications including AWS D1.1, ASME B31.1-31.9, Uniform Building Code (UBC), International Building Code (IBC), RCSC for bolted connections, and AISC.
We can provide a total construction observation and materials testing team able to work within the tightest of schedules. Our services can include:
- Fabrication shop welding observation and testing; in-state and out-of-state
- Bolt testing (Skidmore Wilhelm Calibration)
- Field erection welding observation and testing
- Reinforcing steel and post tensioned tendon placement oversight
- Welder Certification
- Procedure Preparation
GROUND’s non-destructive testing (NDT) can include visual testing (VT), ultrasonic testing (UT), dye penetrant testing (PT), and magnetic particle testing (MT). We can team to provide radiographic testing (RT) when requested.
