Minimal impact ...Indaver strives to have a minimal impact on people and the environment in every aspect of its operation. We are continually investing in new technologies and methods that can further reduce our emissions into the air, water and soil. We are systematically reducing our carbon footprint, not only in our processing facilities, but also in our logistics and general business operations.
But we do more than that. Recovering materials and energy plays a major part in our core business. We have facilities for recycling materials such as PMD (plastic bottles and packaging, metals and drink containers), paperboard and biomass. A large proportion of our treatment facilities now recover energy from waste.
Indaver wants to be able to support its sustainable approach with concrete results. Hence we use relevant, measurable and verifiable performance indicators. In this way we can not only chart the results of our efforts but can also closely monitor and adjust them where necessary.
Thanks to our measurements and the continuous monitoring of performance indicators we can communicate openly and transparently about our sustainable approach:
- We inform neighbouring residents, nearby businesses and representatives of local authorities at regular neighbourhood council sessions and consultative committees.
- Our websites provide detailed background information about all our activities and treatment processes.
- We inform our customers and staff of new projects and activities through newsletters.
- Our sustainability report gives an annual update on all aspects of our performance.
