Climbex - Ultrasonic Structure Measurements Services
Industrial plant managers often face the challenge of assessing the condition of structural elements that have been in service for a long period of time. We support our clients in this process by taking precise measurements of the thickness of steel structures. The ultrasonic measurement method allows us to determine the actual thickness of the structure, as well as the size of corrosion cavities.
For measurements, we use the latest generation of ECHOMETER digital ultrasonic flaw detectors. They make it possible to carry out tests on the client’s premises in all conditions in the range from 0.75 mm to 250 mm. Thanks to the use of appropriate heads, we also provide the possibility of taking measurements of hot elements, e.g. chimneys. Climbex has been awarded by the Central Laboratory of Technical Inspection in Poznań a 2nd degree Acknowledgement Certificate in accordance with PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2001 standard in the field of ultrasonic thickness measurement with a thickness gauge.
Using the ultrasonic measurement method, we are able to broaden our offer to include the following:

- Fuel tank analyses
- Structural component testing
- Inspection of water-wall tubes and superheaters for power generating boilers
- Inspections of steel chimneys
When taking measurements, we use rope access scaffolding thanks to which we shorten the time scheduled for the inspection of chimneys or other hard to reach places to the necessary minimum.
