Water Treatment Service
The importance of an effective water treatment regime within any building can never be overstated. Properly designed and managed water treatment programmes not only ensure a system and the associated plant is operating effectively and cost effectively, but can also greatly increase the effective life span of the plant and reduce running costs. H2O have developed a comprehensive and cost effective programme of water treatment solutions to not only ensure a system is operating in accordance with the latest guidelines but also to guarantee it stays that way.
Routine Testing
Routine Testing
Routine testing of any closed system should be an essential part of any affective PPM management system. If not treated properly, closed heating and chilled water systems can very quickly become contaminated with microbiological fouling, scale and corrosion leading to the formation of sludge and suspended solids. The result of this can lead to the system not performing as effectively or efficiently as it should due to blockages and reduced heat transfer.
H2O can design a program of regular, routine analytical inspection and testing programs to ensure that all of the closed systems are operating within the recommended parameters.
Remedial Dosing
If closed systems are left unchecked or poorly maintained for any period of time then this can often lead to the need for remedial dosing or water treatment to be undertaken.
We can design a bespoke works package to address any ongoing issues within the system and ensure that water quality issues are arrested and the system brought back in line with the recommend parameters.
Pre-Commission Cleaning
Pre-commission cleaning of hot water heating and chilled systems is an essential part of any building commissioning or maintenance programme due to the equipment used being susceptible to blockages at strainers, control valves and small bore heat exchangers.
During the build stage system contaminants such as millscale, jointing compounds and fabricating debris can easily accumulate within a system and need to be removed. This is achieved through chemical cleaning and high velocity flushing, which will then allow the on-going water treatment regime to work effectively in preventing corrosion and microbiological fouling.
- Dynamic flushing in accordance with the BSRIA (BG 29/2011).
- Biocide system wash
- Chemical cleaning
- Corrosion inhibitor and micro biocide dosing
Additionally, older systems that have accumulated deposits due to lack of the correct water treatment can be cleaned and treated utilising similar methods. This type of approach is suitable for heating or chilled water systems that are being extended, or may be experiencing poor heat output due to low flow rates.
