Membrane Aerated Biofilm Reactors (MABR)
Our innovative MABR solutions use passive aeration and biofilm-based nitrification-denitrification to provide primary and secondary treatment, producing treated wastewater suitable for reuse in irrigation. It is particularly suited for decentralized treatment of municipal wastewater. MABR uses up to 90% less energy for aeration than conventional technologies for a significant reduction in operating cost.
Fluence’s latest technology development in anaerobic digestion has focused on anaerobic membrane bioreactors (An-MBR). An-MBR combines anaerobic digestion with MBR technology that replaces centrifuges and dissolved air flotation (DAF) for the concentration of the solid digestate. This technology provides better quality treated effluents that can be reused onsite for industrial applications, and is particularly well-suited for dairy industry wastewater treatment.
