The wetland science group at Rescan has expertise in wetland ecosystem classification, mapping, function assessment, as well as hydrological and biological assessments. Rescan’s team has experience working across Canada in Arctic-permafrost systems, in the Prairie Pothole Region, the Maritimes and British Columbia. Rescan encourages the active participation of local community experts in field studies, as well as in research and monitoring projects, and strives to facilitate knowledge transfer in all its projects.

The wetland science group at Rescan relies on professional input from a number of other disciplines (hydrology, aquatic biology, fisheries, vegetation, and wildlife) to provide a holistic description of wetland function in an ecological context. Rescan’s in-house Geographic Information System (GIS) expertise also supports wetland studies through spatial data acquisition and management, geographic analysis, image classification, and mapping.
