WeSort.AI - BatterySort System
With WeSort.AI and our BatterySort, this won't happen to you. With the help of artificial intelligence, our BatterySort sorting system is able to detect and sort out lithium-ion batteries in your recycling facilities. The key point is that this happens BEFORE the lithium-ion batteries pass through the system damaged and can then cause huge damage.
BatterySort is installed at the earliest possible and technically feasible point, i.e. directly after the pre-shredder in the sorting system. Input streams with a layer thickness of up to 50 cm are detected by an X-ray scanner. Special AI algorithms detect individual batteries and devices containing lithium-ion batteries with a high degree of reliability. Interfering objects such as steel parts, stones or spray cans can also be detected.
The detected devices are shot out precisely with very powerful air pressure nozzles. An acceleration belt triples the speed to minimize by-catch. A special discharge conveyor transports the absorbed devices out of the hall. There they are collected in a fireproof container. There, the impurities can be sorted and recycled.
In principle, the system is suitable for all waste streams. The primary areas of application are currently sorting plants for lightweight packaging (LVP), commercial waste, paper, old electrical appliances and household waste.
-
Spacious interior to avoid possible blockages at all costs
-
Minimum distance between conveyor belt and ceiling of over one meter
-
System length 8 m
-
Active conveyor width of up to 2.5 m
-
Belt speed 2.5 m/s
-
Deflection capacity of the air pressure nozzles up to 3.5 kg
-
X-ray transmission technology
-
TÜV-approved as a quasi-full protection device
-
Mechanical folding mechanism for the nozzle bar
Powerful air pressure nozzles, which are also used in mining, enable reliable sorting.
These high-performance nozzles can be used to blow lithium-ion batteries and electrical appliances weighing up to 3.5 kg off the belt, e.g. e-bike batteries, laptops or robot vacuum cleaners.
The sorted batteries and devices are transported out of the hall and collected in a fireproof container.
False rejects, i.e. the number of incorrectly sorted objects, are reduced to a minimum with a belt speed of 2.5 m/s. The layer thickness is reduced by two thirds in height, e.g. from 30 cm to 10 cm.
01 Active fire prevention
Thermal cameras react when damage is already caused by fire. BatterySort acts before fire and damage occur.
02 No costs and no hassle
Major fires that BatterySort prevents can result in losses of up to €50 million. Enormous costs and trouble are avoided. Even minor fire damage, which averages €200,000 per year and system, is avoided with BatterySort.
03 Lower insurance costs
A not insignificant side effect is the minimization of insurance premiums. In the case of group insurance, the cost savings amount to around € 180,000 per year.
04 Reputation and image secured
It is not possible to put an exact figure on the downtime costs and image damage caused by fires, but they are no less important.
