- Version GL - Stability Calculation Software

The module of the program WinBoesch for the calculation of the stability of slopes with circular slip planes offers the possibility to determine the slope and/or ground resistance to fracture with the help of a rotation mechanism (according to Bishop). For WinBoesch further modules for the calculation with block slip lines and with non-circular slip lines are available. The surface of WinBoesch is similar to that of WINDOWS Explorer. The input tree guarantees an optimal view of all inputs. Opening the output window before the data input enables the user to directly see the effects of the data input in the output window. As many windows as needed can be opened and arranged either next to or below each other. WinBoesch runs with the operating systems WINDOWS 2000, XP, Vista and WINDOWS 7.

  • Several projects can be processed simultaneously in a file. For every project the following elements can be entered:
    • Project data: Description of the project, plan and project number, person responsible, date, drawing definition and labeling of the graphics
    • Layers: Layer data, layer geometry, a representation type (shading and/or color) and labeling. Interstitial water overpressure can be considered during the calculation through the characteristics new load factor and consolidation delay.
Individual layers and their data can be used as so-called default data records: The data of a layer can be put in as default for future layers and these data records can then be loaded into the current layer upon opening WinBoesch.
    • Components: Building with arbitrary geometry, anchor without and with initial tension (through additional frictional force according to DIN 4084), geotextiles (additional also for the state of great deformations in the break state)
    • Loads: Vertical and horizontal point loads, area loads, mobile loads and water loads
    • Earthquake influence (according to DIN 4149, Part 2) and Saturation line
    • Slip line: Definition of a circular slip line with specification of fixed points, centers, and radii as well as a specification of a search raster
    • Calculation standard: Valid calculation standard with the definition of the load case and input of the partial safety coefficients
    • Printed pages: Appearance, size, and number of the output pages to be printed
  • The input of coordinates (for example with layer edge, load point, slip line coordinates) is either done graphically with the mouse in the output window or via input masks in the project window.
  • Within a file a project or individual project elements can be copied and inserted, that facilitates the input for similar conditions.
  • During the input and/or before the calculation the correctness of all entered values is verified.
  • For every input mask, a direct-help can be accessed by pressing the F1 key.
  • With the program, WinBoesch WinNagel-files can be opened and processed and vice versa. Moreover, existing old WinSlope or WinNagel files (*.dat) can be imported into WinBoesch.

  • The stability is determined optionally according to valid calculation standards (DIN 4084, DIN V 4084 – 100 or EC 7).
  • The slip line calculation is carried out either systematically according to user specifications for fixed circles or it is searched automatically for the most unfavorable break mechanism with the least safety through variation of the circular slip line in a given search raster. It is tested in this case for every slip line order whether this is physically possible.

  • After the calculation of the stability the following output pages are produced:
    • Graphics of the slope geometry with the decisive slip plane and the search raster including the computed safety per raster point
    • Protocol with input and output data of which the scope can be freely stipulated.
  • The appearance of the printable pages is freely adjustable:
    • Company name and, if available, a company logo can be inserted into the output forms. These settings can then also be applied to all other IDAT programs.
    • Any page inscription can be entered for the right upper corner: When e.g. for the first protocol page any text and page number is entered, the following protocol pages will be consecutively numbered. Therefore, the protocol pages do not have to start with number 1.
    • The output of the pages can arbitrarily be scaled and rearranged. It can also be displayed in b/w since some colors are difficult to recognize when converted into a grey scale.
    • If needed the layer data can be displayed in a table on the graphics page. The position of the table on the page can be freely selected. In addition, it can be determined which columns the layer data table should contain.
    • For the stamp field, the project data (such as projects, person responsible, etc.) can be individually adapted and stored as company-specific default values.
  • The graphics can be printed as DIN A4 or up to DIN A0 either in horizontal or vertical format.
  • The page by page export of the graphics and protocol pages is possible as EMF as well as DXF graphics. The exported graphics can then be inserted into or processed in other programs, e.g. AutoCAD or CorelDraw with DXF and e.g. Word or Excel with EMF. The protocol pages can also be exported as HTML file and then be edited with programs such as Word or they can be viewed with internet browsers.
