Instructors from Compliance Solutions emphasize a practical approach to worksite health and safety, as such, attendees learn to recognize site hazards and take appropriate steps to prevent illness or injuries while on the jobsite. The 40-Hour initial training is for site workers who have responsibilities to remediate (clean-up) hazardous materials at controlled and un-controlled hazardous sites with hazards or work activities that present some potential for exposure to health and safety hazards. The major emphasis of the class is to provide participants with the ability to evaluate site conditions, recognize situations which may or may not be within their abilities, and to evaluate conditions where assistance is required.
Who Should Take This Course?
Personnel involved in the following disciplines are required to have 40-hour HAZWOPER training: Removal or handling of underground tanks and/or piping, handling contaminated soil and/or groundwater, subsurface investigations, construction work in which hazardous materials may potentially be present or encountered, situations where HAZMAT is prepared, packaged, labeled, marked, stored or shipped for disposal and for any facility wherein hazardous wastes are treated, stored, or disposed. Please note that in order to be in compliance with OSHA regulations, a refresher must be completed annually to maintain 40-Hour certification.
Note: The 40-Hour initial training is NOT designed to qualify participants as Health and Safety Officers for complex sites. Individuals who have responsibilities as a supervisor or as a Site Safety Officer will require additional training including Compliance Solutions OSHA Site Supervisor Course. The 40-Hour HAZWOPER is a prerequisite for the Site Supervisor Course. Supervisor training is available online or as a traditional seminar (see links below).
