Auditing Safety & Environmental Management Systems (SEMS) Requirements

The SEMS regulation requires each organization to have an audit of its safety and environmental programs conducted within two years of the required initiation date of November 15, 2011, and recurring audits at least every three years thereafter.
This course will provide the participant both the knowledge and skill necessary to conduct SEMS audits. All CFR Title 30, Part 250 requirements will be thoroughly examined and practical auditing exercises will be conducted. The participant will understand and be able to assess each SEMS requirement. The participant will be able to explain the requirements as well as the conceptual basis for their existence.
The course will explore the need for the SEMS regulation, the fundamental management systems concepts that support it, and overview the requirements. The entire course focuses on auditing to the requirements.
