Flood Monitoring with Radar Water Level Sensor

Application Problem:

For a flood monitoring application, the customer required a solution to accurately monitor the level of a river, and be able to measure the river’s dry bed conditions.

Application History:

Solutions from several level sensor brands couldn’t detect the river’s dry bottom conditions, making them unsuitable for the application.

Solution:

ABM’s non-contact flood monitoring radar level sensor was selected and receives very stable echoes from the dry river bed. The sensor automatically adjusts to receive one echo only from the target and eliminates false echoes from surrounding obstructions (i.e. ladders, walls, pipes), ensuring accurate and reliable river water level measurement.
