This small, lightweight, collapsible, and portable winch is perfect for shallow-water marine research:  underwater video, hydrophones, water sampling, sediment sampling, you name it!  It mounts to a pedestal so it can be used on the edge of a dock or fixed in a small boat or dinghy for versatility in research locations.  It could also be used as a geological field winch for inspecting short boreholes or other ground holes.  Its small size.

The CSW-10 is our largest, most powerful standard winch model for medium to heavier duty oceanographic applications.  Its wide drum and large frame size give it a high cable capacity and room to fit large motors up to 5HP.  It can accommodate many standard AGO winch add-ons, including a levelwind, drum ratchet, sprocket-assisted manual backup, and more. Similarly to the much smaller CSW-7VK model, and unlike the CSW Classic winches, it is characterized by a drum positioned in front of a veritcally-oriented motor + gearbox stack.

The CSW-6/7/9 Classic (number designation assigned based on overall size) is a small footprint highly configurable open-drum winch for light to medium duty oceanographic and geophysics research applications.  It is characterized by a welded aluminum tube frame with the drum positioned over top of a horizontally-oriented motor + gearbox stack.  It can accommodate the addition of many standard AGO winch add-ons, including a levelwind, drum ratchet, drum enclosure, and more. Unlike the CSW-7VK model, the CSW Classic models are nominally unenclosed open-drum winches, but can all have a drum enclosure added to meet safety requirements.

The CSW-7VK is a fully-enclosed winch for medium duty oceanographic and geophysics research applications.  It is characterized by a welded aluminum tube frame with the drum positioned in front of a vertically-oriented motor + gearbox stack.  It can accommodate the addition of many standard AGO winch add-ons, including a levelwind, drum ratchet, sprocket-assisted manual backup drive, and more.

A.G.O. Environmental Field Repairable Slip Rings are well suited for use in marine environments. Housed in a waterproof marine-grade stainless steel housing with water-resistant seals, they are ideal for use on signal winches and for other marine applications where rotation of signal or power conductors is required.

The EWC-6 wire counter is an up/down wire counter with both automatic and manual direction control functions and displays distance and speed. The electronics are mounted in a compact splash-resistant box. The length of cable out is displayed on line one of a two line LCD, with count up to +/- 5000 meters / 5000 feet*. The user can set the measurement unit to m or ft by connecting the EWC-6 to a computer and following its simple instructions in its manual*. The EWC-6 is used in combination with a magnetic encoded sheave block such as our SR and PS series blocks or by modifying your existing block.

Our gunwale-mount wire counter sheave is a magnetically-encoded sheave system designed for use with our standard EWC-6 electronic wire counter display unit.
