American Engineering Testing has had a seismic piezocone rig since 2003. Seismic piezocone testing (PCPT) is an in-situ test that involves pushing an instrumented cylindrical cone into the ground with a static pressure. During penetration, continuous measurements of tip resistance, sleeve friction, and pore water pressure are made. Our equipment consists of 15cm2 electronic cones.

Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) offers a non-destructive means of material analysis without coring or probing through solid surfaces. GPR is a pulse-echo method for measuring depths where material types change. GPR works much like ultrasound imaging by emitting high frequency electromagnetic waves through materials under investigation using radio waves rather then sound waves.

Qualifications and Services. American Engineering Testing (AET) has over 23 years of experience in conducting air and water infiltration testing of windows and doors. The scope of our expertise and experience allows us to work on projects from routine, smaller jobs such as testing one window or door in a single-story building, to special large projects such as testing multiple windows throughout a series of high-rise structures.

Advanta ges of Impulse Radar over x-ray. There is no need to evacuate the building occupants to avoid x-ray exposure, thus eliminating the need to work nights or weekends at premium personnel rates. It is much faster than x-ray – less than 20 minutes to locate a 4’ x 4’ area. The embedded items are clearly marked right on the floor. It can be used from under a slab, under a beam, or on vertical surfaces, including masonry walls.

Brownfields are pre-used properties where the stigma of pollution hinders development. These projects can be complex and often need extra care.
