Drinking Water
Alonda - Alarm-Based Automatic Mobile Sampling Unit
Alonda is a mobile sampling unit that can be placed in conjunction with central nodes in the mains and automatically take samples in case of aberrant water quality. Alonda can be activated by any sensor and take water samples at the same time a given sensor detects a value above the threshold.
HiVoSa - Bacterial Concentration Unit for Drinking Water
HiVoSa (High Volume Sampling) is a device that, using cross flow filtration, can concentrate bacteria in drinking water, thus lowering the detection limit up to 1000 times. The low detection limit allows slight bacterial contamination to be discovered long before they are powerful enough to pose a real problem.
BACTcontrol - Fully Automatic Enzymes Analysis System
We negotiate BACTcontrol (formerly COLIGUARD), produced by the Dutch company MicroLAN. As the only device of its kind on the market today, BACTcontrol can specifically analyze for E.coli or coliform bacteria with low detection limits in just 1-2 hours.
DNA Analyzes for Drinking Water
With the support of the VTU Fund, we have developed a number of DNA analyzes for drinking water over the past couple of years. Unlike source tracing in bathing waters, where we look for differences in the DNA of the bacteria, we lead the new DNA analyzes of the following DNA into the drinking water. This has the unmatched advantage that the source trace is not dependent on the faecal bacteria that rarely cause drinking water contaminants in Denmark or occur in very low concentrations. By analyzing the follow-up DNA that accompanies coliform bacteria into the drinking water in case of contamination, DNA is directly analyzed from the source, which can provide valuable information about the origin of the contamination.
Drinking Water - Source Tracking
Extract and Analyze Large Water Samples
We offer to extract and analyze large water samples for E. coli and coliform bacteria. Depending on the sampling conditions and pollution history, we will typically take 10-100 liters of water, whereby the detection limit for coliform bacteria will be 0.01-0.001 coliforme per. 100 ml. This allows for rapid traceability of very low bacterial concentrations throughout the pipeline and up to the source of pollution.
Volume Samples System
The problem of low contamination of coliform bacteria is that it is statistically random if a coliform bacterium is caught in the sample when only 100 ml is analyzed, as is the case with the accredited analyzes. We have the ability to analyze large volumes of water, thereby lowering the detection limit from 1 coliform to, for example, 0.001 coliform per. 100 ml. This provides a unique opportunity to follow fluctuations in bacterial concentration through the grid and to the source`s source. This kind of source tracking is an easy and fast method of locating the area from which a continuous source of pollution is located. We have two options for concentrating bacteria in water.
