Coarse Solids Retention
BIOGEST AG - Model Type LTW - Lamella Baffle
Targeted retention of solids on relief thresholds in separating/ discharge structures of combined sewerage systems. Coarse solids can be discharged into the pre-clarifier in the form of suspended or floating matter during the relief process. In order to prevent this, relief structures were equipped with baffles which were given the task of retaining floating matter (e.g. oils and greases) and solid matter (e.g. sanitary products such as toilet paper, sanitary towels, etc.). However, conventional baffles are only suitable for this purpose to a restricted degree (see Fig. 1.1) since the efficiency of baffles decreases with increasing volumetric flow and the reinforced suction effect resulting from this.
BIOGEST AG - Model Type LTW-R - Circular Lamella Baffle
In a rainstorm, it’s not just the water quantity which can lead to problems – coarse solids can also be difficult to deal with. Hygiene articles or other waste can result in unwanted pollution, which can even be environmentally damaging, at inflow locations to receiving waterways. Lamella baffles can provide help.
BIOGEST AG - Model Type GESMO - Grit Trap
Selective retention and removal of debris and grit from channels. In channels where combined sewage and storm water are conveyed, there are also some coarse substances, such as grit and sewage related debris. These coarse substances usually move more slowly than the water flow and often cause problems with downstream plant and equipment. In principle the goal is to identify the sources of grit or debris entering the sewerage system and eliminate them to prevent sewage related debris within the sewer system. In reality however debris will always be found in the sewer system. It then causes operational problems and mechanical damage to inlet or head works and pumping station equipment. The latter can be avoided, by installing grit and debris removal stations where the debris can be collected.
BIOGEST AG - Model Type SWTW - Floating Scum Baffle System
Floating scum baffle for solid retention of floating matters at stormwater overflows and CSO outlets. The vertical or radial floating baffles are suitable for strongly fluctuating water levels or high overflow levels as if moves with the water level up and down. The baffle will be produced in solid stainless steel.
