Berolina - GRP Pipe Coating
Glass fibre reinforced plastic (GRP) is an extremely resilient material, which BKP applies on the PE coated pipes as casing protection. This additional protective coat is used in particular for the pipe jacking and horizontal drilling method (HDD). The GRP coating applied in the factory is convincingly effective due to the use of polystyrene-free resins and the fast curing by means of controlled UV light.
Berolina - GRP Skids
Skids, also called spacers, are used as additional protection for pulling into an existing pipe length. The product, developed in 2010, impresses with its extreme resilience. Additional work on the construction site is not necessary as the skids are already attached in the factory. The pipes are connected together on the construction site by means of GRP weld coating. The around 50 millimetre thick GRP skids of BKP Berolina are made of light or peroxide-curing resins and are attached to the GRP casing on the construction site. Combined with the high-strength glass fibres, in addition to the GRP pipe coating the system protects against mechanical damage while the pipe is pulled into a microtunnel or sleeve pipe.
Berolina - GRP Weld Coating
Welds are particularly prone to damage by environmental effects, as they cannot be coated until later. This means that the coating can only be carried out directly on site at the place in which the pipe is pulled in. By using GRP it is possible to carry out this work process within a very short time and to avoid subsequent damage to the welds. The work in the lightproof tent and targeted use of UV lamps cures the material in a controlled way. A curing process “from the outside inwards” additionally prevents the production of fumes.

Berolina - Liner System
The Berolina-Liner System is a cost-effective and efficient method for sewer pipe rehabilitation. Time-consuming excavation work can be avoided – the disruption to infrastructure is minor and short-term. Compared with other methods energy consumption is reduced significantly thanks to optimised production, transportation and installation conditions. Since 1997, BKP has successfully produced UV light-curing and glass fibre reinforced tube liners.
