Bladewerx - Personal Alpha/Beta CAMs

The Bladewerx EpeeCAM™ is an ultra-compact Continuous Air Monitor capable of real-time detection of alpha and beta emitting particulates. The Bladewerx EpeeBZM™ is the wearable Breathing Zone Monitor version, boasting a remote sampling head to be clipped near the worker’s lapel. The flexible design provides a high-performance platform for detecting trace amounts of radioactive particulates in the presence of ambient radon or alternatively for making high accuracy radon measurements. The EpeeCAM can be configured to measure and alarm on the presence of special nuclear materials (SNM) or to report on potential alpha energy concentration (PAEC) in working levels.

Bladewerx - Breathing Zone Monitor

The Bladewerx EpeeBZM™ is the wearable Breathing Zone Monitor version, boasting a remote sampling head to be clipped near the worker`s lapel.

Bladewerx - Beta Particulate Monitor

The Bladewerx SabreBPM² Portable Beta CAM is a lightweight, battery-powered, Alpha + Beta Particulate Monitor that can be used as a portable workplace monitor or a portable CAM for emergency-response assessments. It is designed to provide workers with an early warning of an airborne release of beta emitting particulates.

Bladewerx - Integrated Sample Counter

The Bladewerx SabreISC™, Integrated Sample Counter, is a field-deployable alpha/beta sample counter that provides high-sensitivity alpha and beta activity determinations on filters and swipes.  It can determine radon working levels or it can perform real time compensation for radon-decay products when trying to detect other alpha-emitting isotopes-of-interest.  Samples no longer need to be stored for several days for radon progeny to decay before being able to assess longer-lived activity.  The SabreISC can be configured with up to two alpha-emitting isotopes-of-interest and has the unique ability to match an unknown peak to the nearest radionuclide in the user-editable isotope table.  It simultaneously measures beta and is a fully integrated instrument with a high resolution color LCD/touchscreen and electronically-controlled sample drawer.  It is available in alpha/beta and alpha-only configurations.

Bladewerx - Alpha Survey Meter

The Bladewerx Alpha Survey Meter, SabreASM™, is a field deployable alpha spectroscopy survey meter that has excellent radon rejection for performing surveys for transuranic surface contamination.  The SabreASM can be configured with up to two energy regions-of-interest (ROI), or one or two specific alpha-emitting isotopes-of-interest (IoI).  It utilizes a high resolution color touchscreen and detachable probe with 2-inch solid-state ion-implanted detector.  To perform a count, the probe is placed over the survey spot and the operator presses the Count button.  Net ROI/IoI activity information is displayed as the count proceeds until a valid determination is made and the results posted. Weighing less than 8 lbs. (3.6 kg), the SabreASM is a simple-to-operate, computer-controlled alpha spectroscopy survey instrument.

Compact Hand & Foot Monitor

The Bladewerx cHFM™ is a space saving alpha/beta contamination monitor configurable with up to four gas-flow proportional detectors — a combination of hand, foot, or frisker detectors. The modularity and small footprint (less than 2.5ft²) provide excellent versatility and allows for wall mounting, cart mounting, or tabletop use. The cHFM is compact, easy to set up, and user friendly, making it highly efficient for personnel monitoring in high traffic applications.  The cHFM performs counting and alarming in frisker ratemeter mode when the hand-held frisker probe is being used and in fixed count time mode when monitoring hands and feet. Each detector has its own user settable parameters and alpha and beta measurements are individually analyzed and displayed. The software also provides automatic background compensation with statistical monitoring for abrupt changes in ambient gamma level.

Programmable Pulse Generator

The Bladewerx microPulser™ is a small lightweight programmable pulse generator designed to assist in testing and calibrating radiation monitoring instruments.  It supports precision control of pulse rate and pulse amplitude, as well as one of three user-defined pulse shape profiles.  In addition, the microPulser can measure and display the connected instrument’s high voltage output.  The microPulser has an ABS housing designed to take abuse in the field. The microPulser provides both analog and digital displays.  The analog meter provides visual feedback for adjustments of count rate or pulse amplitude, while the digital meter displays the actual setting values, giving accurate values of the current settings.  The digital display is also used for setup and calibration of the pulser through a user-friendly menu system.

PTFE Membrane Material

High sensitivity alpha-in-air spectroscopy is dependent on spectrum resolution. Because of the excellent surface deposition qualities of the PTFE membrane filter, the full-width half-max (FWHM) alpha peak resolution is significantly improved over glass fiber, cellulose or acetate filter media.  As a result of using the PTFE membrane filters in an alpha CAM, the minimum detectable concentration can be improved by as much as 30% and allow either faster alarm response times or reduced false alarms.
