CATLIN Engineers and Scientists - CATLIN Environmental Consultants services
Environmental Remediation & Restoration
CATLIN’s engineering team has extensive experience providing remedial design services for contaminated media cleanup. We use proven technologies and solutions to accelerate the design process and move quickly into actual construction and remediation. However, we continue to research and evaluate innovative ideas and solutions. In addition to training in value engineering, team members also have significant experience with remedial system installation, troubleshooting and operation, which translates into more efficient and cost-effective designs.Engineering Design and Permitting
CATLIN offers a variety of civil, environmental and geotechnical engineering supported by complete in-house field and technological services. Through planning, design and construction, our team of experienced engineers works with our clients to provide the best design solutions. Typical engineering and design projects we routinely complete include: Remediation Design, Water/Wastewater Treatment & Conveyance, Stormwater Management, Erosion Control, Sedimentation Control, Site Planning, Development & Design, Spill Prevention Planning, Infrastructure Evaluation & Design, Geotechnical Evaluations, Permitting.Environmental Investigations and Assessments
CATLIN has extensive experience in designing and carrying out environmental site assessments and contamination investigation activities under varying geologic and hydrogeologic conditions. We routinely perform contaminated media assessments associated with a variety of sources pursuant to Local, State and Federal regulatory requirements. Project experience includes sites such as Superfund sites, commercial and hazardous waste landfills, dry cleaners, industrial solvent spills, fire training areas, chlorinated solvent contaminated sites, maintenance yards, POL storage and distribution areas, bulk fuel storage facilities, pipeline releases, maintenance facilities and refueling stations.Landfills and Dumps - Assessment and Remediation
Landfills and dumps closed prior to January 1, 1983, may be eligible to receive reimbursement for assessment and remediation activities under the NCDENR Inactive Hazardous Sites Branch (IHSB). NC Legislation has established a fund to assist with assessment and if necessary clean-up of these sites. CATLIN can help with addressing the environmental liability, assessment and clean-up or initiating redevelopment of unused assets into potentially revenue generating public assets. Our experienced personnel are knowledgeable in the NCDENR regulations and have successfully negotiated projects through the assessment process and the complex regulatory framework.Environmental Monitoring & Data Management
Long term environmental monitoring efforts generate voluminous amounts of data ranging from well construction data, field measurements, laboratory analytical results, and operation and maintenance (O&M) data just to name a few. In order to effectively evaluate and maintain large amounts of information, organized environmental data management systems are invaluable. Using environmental data management systems to efficiently collect and store data can save the client thousands of dollars in fees and potentially could assist with regulatory review of site conditions.Civil Engineering
CATLIN offers a variety of civil engineering services supported by complete in-house field and technological services. Through planning, design and construction, our team of experienced engineers works with our clients to provide the best design solutions.
Operations and Maintenance
Not only can CATLIN personnel design and install remediation and water treatment systems, but our professionals are also skilled at system operation and maintenance. Our extensive experience in operations and maintenance of treatment systems has resulted in a proactive site remediation philosophy and insight into which equipment and technologies can meet the continuous 24-hour performance demands of active remedial systems.
Regulatory Coordination, Compliance & Permitting
CATLIN personnel regularly interact with State and Federal environmental regulatory agencies throughout the Southeast, but most frequently with EPA Region IV, NCDENR and the GA EPD due to the high volume of projects that we have in progress in these areas.
Brownfletds Redevelopment
The re-use and redevelopment of abandoned properties is becoming increasingly important. The presence or potential presence of a hazardous substance, pollutant or contaminant can be properly addressed, managed and the property can be redeveloped for beneficial use. By cleaning up, reinvesting in, and re-developing these properties, we are also preserving and protecting our natural green space and reusing existing infrastructure.
Geotechnical Services
Foundations are the fundamental base of everything we build. Whether you’re designing and building a landfill, a roadway, a house, or a skyscraper, the integrity, strength and stability of the foundation is a critical factor. From subsurface investigation to laboratory testing and engineering design – CATLIN can provide comprehensive geotechnical engineering services.
