A recent trial at a local San Antonio hotel using the Ecotex Laundry Oxidation System, has yielded results proving the company`s claim that significant savings can be realized in water, natural gas, chemical use, and labor. For this 120 room hotel, a savings of over 250,000 gallons of water per year will be realized, while improving the quality and cleanliness of the laundry being processed.
The Ecotex system utilizes the injection of ozone gas into the laundry process. Ozone gas enha
Abstract
Ozone generating equipment was retrofit into the laundry washroom of the Gaston Memorial Hospital in Gastonia, NC, and began operating in the early part of July, 2010. Three ozone generating systems service six washer-extractors in the washroom. The performance of this fine-bubble ozone diffusion laundering system has been monitored since that time, with various adjustments made to ensure optimum performance and production results. Since installing this ozone

It has been over 170 years since the d iscovery of the ozone (O3) molecule. Since that time, scientists and engineers have been testing and evaluating ways to use ozone in many different processes, from water and air treatment to surface and food sanitation. The evolution was somewhat slow in the early days, taking nearly 50 years before Europeans found, in 1886, that ozone could be used for water disinfection. From that point, it continued to pique the interest of those in pursuit

For nearly 100 years, ozone has been used all over the world for water sanitation. It is nature’s strongest oxidizer and has a byproduct of pure oxygen. Chlorine, on the other hand, is a very effective, time-proven chemical, but is ineffective against hard-to-kill microorganisms such as cryptosporidium. It also has some unpleasant byproducts. Together, however, these two substances can complement each other’s strengths and work to improve the condition of modern swimming pools.

Growing operational costs and lower-than average occupancy rates spurred Apple Farm Inn and Suites, San Luis Obispo, Ca., to explore economic and facility-efficiency benefits obtained through the installation of an ozone laundry system. At the Apple Farm Inn laundry facility, an evaluation lasting several months was conducted in late 2006 into 2007, comparing the costs of laundering by traditional methods versus ozone laundering.

Abstract
Since the early 1990s, the use of ozone in many commercial and industrial laundering applications has been evolving rapidly. Ozone allows washing to be conducted using cold water, thereby saving considerable heat energy and water consumption. Additionally, ozone enhances the wash process, resulting in a significant reduction in detergent dosage and number of rinses, thus saving water. Ozone/cold water cycles are gentler to fabrics, thus extending linen life.
Due to the inherent risks associated with the use of chlorine gas as a sanitizer for the City of Tucson’s twenty-six municipal swimming pool sites, I found myself in search of an alternative water sanitation method. The challenge was clear; find a system that would be safer to manage than gas chlorine, yet yield the same favorable sanitation and water quality results. Since all the sites are located in close proximity to residential neighborhoods and public schools, safety was the most
