More and more organizations use the ISO 14001 environmental management systems standard to systematically address their care for the environment and show their improved performance. The ISO 14001 standard is also suited to integrate environmental aspects into an existing management system.

The Environmental Management System Standard ISO 14001 provides a generic set of requirements for establishing an Environmental Management System (EMS). The worldwide adoption of this standard has created the need for competent professionals who are able to impartially and effectively assess an EMS. This course, registered by the Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment (IEMA) has been designed to develop a clear understanding of environmental management in the modern era and provide those involved in audit conduct and management with the necessary skills to fulfill their role.

This course provides an in-depth understanding of the key components of Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and ISO 14001 framed within a wider context of business improvement. The course is focussed on auditing ISO 14001 using a Risk Based approach. Participants on this course are required to proof they have participated in a 5 day IRCA approved Lead Assessor course in any other discipline.
