Richard A. Matthews founded Filtration Technology Inc. in 1971 because he saw the need for creating more productive manufacturing environments. Since that time, the company has designed and built over 450 cleanrooms for diverse industries throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern Unites States, and earned the reputation throughout those regions as the leading single source design/build cleanroom contractor. Richard A. Matthews has been actively involved with the revision of Federal Standard 209 as well as contributed to committees for ASHRAE, the Institute of Environmental Sciences (IES), the Biological Safety Conference and served as an ISO committee chairman overseeing deliberations with delegates from over 33 countries for the new ISO Global Cleanroom Standards.
