Genex-Utility - Submerged Membrane Bio Reactors (MBR)

The membrane bioreactor (MBR) process is a modification of the conventional activated sludge process in which the membrane filtration unit, instead of a secondary sedimentation tank, is used to separate the effluent from the activated sludge.

Genex Utility - Sidestream Membrane Bio Reactor (MBR)

A sidestream MBR widely known as cross-flow membrane bioreactor (CFMBR) in which the membrane module is installed outside the aeration tank. The mixed-liquor (liquid-solids mixture) is pumped to the membrane module where it is filtrated by cross-flow filtration through the membrane. The permeate is discharged and the retentate (excess flow) is circulated to the aeration tank. In this configuration, tubular membranes are often used (horizontal or vertical).

Genex-Utility - Reverse Osmosis Membranes (RO)

Reverse Osmosis (RO) is a separation technique that is suitable for a wide range of applications, especially when salt and/or dissolved solids need to be removed from a solution.Reverse Osmosis water purifieruses a semi-permeable membrane to separate water from the dissolved salts. Accordingly, RO can be used for seawater and brackish water desalination, to produce both waters for industrial application and drinking water. It can also be applied for the production of ultrapure water (e.g. semiconductor, pharmaceutical industries) and boiler feed water. In addition, RO membrane systems are used for wastewater and water reuse treatments

Genex-Utility - Microfiltration Membranes (MF)

Microfiltration (MF) is a pressure-driven separation process, which is widely used in concentrating, purifying or separating macromolecules, colloids and suspended particles from solution. MF membranes typically have nominal pore sizes on the order of 0.1–1.0 μm. MF processing is widely used in the food industry for applications such as wine, juice and beer clarification, for wastewater treatment, and plasma separation from blood for therapeutic and commercial uses. In biotechnology industries, MF concerns applications such as cell recycle and harvesting, separation of recombinant proteins from cell debris, and purification of process streams.

Genex-Utility - Ultrafiltration Membranes (UF)

UF, a kind of membrane separation technique, is able to remove the particle materials in solutions. This separation process is usually used in industry and research areas for purifying and concentrating macromolecular (103–106 Da) solutions, especially protein solutions. Like microfiltration, ultrafiltration is based on size exclusion or particle capture. Ultrafiltration membranes are defined by the molecular weight cut-off (MWCO) of the membrane used, and cross-flow or dead-end mode is applied in different areas. The ultrafiltration membranes are only accessible for small molecules, such as leachate molecules, inorganic salts, and micromolecular organics, rather than some macromolecules like SS, colloid, protein, and bacteria. UF is always used as a way to pretreat leachate with lower organic concentration before nanofiltration (NF).

Genex-Utility - Real-Time Monitoring and Remote Access Systems for STP/ETP

The non- availability of manpower to operate the STPs/ETPs, with the higher operating cost of the same with lower efficiency, and lack of proper feedback or monitoring system always has been a challenge to the customers for the STPs/ETPs. With the help of the growing number of available sensors and monitoring tools and technologies, we have developed a solution with which the above problems can be addressed properly.

Genex-Utility - Membrane Bio Reactor(MBR) System

Membrane bioreactor (MBR)is the combination of a membrane process like microfiltration or ultra-filtration with a biological wastewater treatment process, the activated sludge process. It is now widely used for municipal and industrial wastewater treatment.

Genex-Utility - Ultra Filtration (UF) System

Ultra-filtration (UF)is a variety of membrane filtration in which forces like pressure or concentration gradients lead to a separation through a semi-permeable membrane. Suspended solids and solutes of high molecular weight are retained in the so-called retentate, while water and low molecular weight solutes pass through the membrane in the permeate (filtrate).

Genex Utility - Reverse Osmosis(RO) Systems

Reverse osmosis (RO)is a water purification technology that uses a semi-permeable membrane to remove ions, molecules and larger particles from drinking water. In reverse osmosis, an applied pressure is used to overcome osmotic pressure, a colligative property that is driven by chemical potential differences of the solvent, a thermodynamic parameter. Reverse osmosis can remove many types of dissolved and suspended species from water, including bacteria, and is used in both industrial processes and the production of potable water.

Genex Utility - Parallel Plate Gravity Oil and Water Separators

In this type of water oil separator system, corrugated plates made of an oleophilic material are placed parallel to one another in a tank with a space of about 6-12 millimeters between them. Water and oil are then allowed to flow through the tank and in between these plates. The oil in the water is attracted to and gets stuck on the plates. Conventional gravity separators use the force of gravity to separate oil and other contaminants from water. This works because oil is less dense or lighter than water. Therefore, when oily water is put into a separator, the oil rises to the top, solids and sediment sink to the bottom and the water is left in the middle. The oil is then skimmed off the top and disposed of, while water is free to flow through an outlet on the side of the tank for further processing or to be released into the environment. Solids and the sediment layer are scraped off the bottom into a sludge pump for disposal.
