Rammed Aggregate Pier Systems

Geopier - Model GP3 - Rammed Aggregate Pier Systems

The Geopier GP3 system is a foundational reinforcement method specially designed for non-caving soil conditions. This technique involves a 'drill and fill' approach that replaces unsuitable soils with a Rammed Aggregate Pier (RAP) composed of well-graded aggregates. The construction process uses a track-mounted auger and a proprietary tamper to form dense columns, which improve soil stiffness and support higher bearing capacities, achieving significant settlement control. The GP3 system, known for its versatility and reliability, has been implemented in numerous successful projects across various applications, including commercial structures, parking garages, and industrial facilities. Its installation process involves precise drilling to specific depths, followed by systematic layering of aggregates, which enhances soil coupling. It is notable for exerting lateral pressures that contribute to enhanced matrix soil stabilization, making it suitable for diverse geotechnical engineering needs.

Geopier - Impact System for Soil Stabilization

The Geopier Impact System is engineered to tackle challenging soil conditions where traditional drilling techniques fail to maintain open boreholes. This system utilizes a displacement method, deploying a steel pipe mandrel with a patented compaction chamber to infiltrate caving soils and efficiently construct piers. By advancing through unsuitable soils to a specified depth, the Impact System enables the creation of densely packed Rammed Aggregate Piers (RAPs), allowing for higher load-bearing capacities and excellent settlement control. Suitable for use below the groundwater table, the process ensures minimal contamination and maintains the integrity of the aggregate. This system is adept at handling various soil types, including caving sands, soft clays, and liquefiable soils. Its application spans multiple industries, from commercial and residential projects to wind farms and industrial facilities, illustrating its versatility and reliability in diverse geotechnical applications.

Geopier - Rampact Pier System for Compaction & Stabilization of Soil

The Rampact pier system is another Geopier stabilization method for soils that simply won’t stay open during drilling.  Rather than using a displacement auger, Rampact piers are installed using a tapered mandrel outfitted with a patented compaction chamber to penetrate through caving soils and construct piers from the bottom up. This method allows for the construction of high-quality Rammed Aggregate Piers (RAPs) below the groundwater table without having to worry about contamination and/or fouling of the aggregate.  The end result of Rampact® is a dense column of aggregate surrounded by stiffened matrix soils that provide excellent settlement control and allow for higher foundation bearing capacities.

Geopier - X1 System for Soil Stabilization

The Geopier X1 System is engineered to provide efficient ground reinforcement and soil stabilization solutions, focusing on non-caving soils that stay open during drilling and clean sands for ground displacement. This innovative 'drill and fill' approach employs a track-mounted auger for removing unsuitable soils and a specialized mandrel on a mast rig to construct Rammed Aggregate Pier (RAP) elements. These elements form dense columns of aggregate encased in a stiffened soil matrix, delivering enhanced settlement control and increasing bearing capacity. The system is particularly notable for its faster construction due to the advanced equipment used, including a patented tamper for installation. This system is designed for a range of applications including commercial warehouses, residential structures, government facilities, and more, offering a robust solution for projects requiring advanced soil stabilization.
