GESI personnel have performed a wide range of services for industrial facilities related to compliance with environmental wastewater regulations. We have been involved with the following projects: Treatment system expansion, optimization, and troubleshooting. Wastewater treatability studies and process design. Pretreatment system permit applications for facilities that discharge to publicly owned treatment works (POTWs). Permit applications for facilities that discharge directly to surface waters under the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES). Toxicity reduction evaluations.

The average experience of our Process Engineers exceeds 10 years. Our personnel understand how industrial processes operate and how emissions and discharges are generated from these processes. In addition, our personnel have experience in the evaluation of various technologies by which emissions can be controlled to meet regulatory limits. All of our staff engineers have substantial first hand experience in day to day plant operations. We also provide turn-key design and construction services when our clients request it.

GESI personnel have performed compliance audits for a wide range of industrial clients. Compliance audits are an important tool toward maintaining regulatory compliance and in identifying process improvements both of which can translate into cost savings. GESI`s approach to compliance audits involves not only a review of compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and permit requirements, but also evaluating management systems and practices in place to maintain compliance on a daily basis after process modifications. The goal of the GESI audit process is not just to identify compliance issues but also to provide recommendations to address these issues and improve a facility`s ability to maintain compliance.

In today`s corporate operating environment, information is generated at an alarming rate from an ever increasing number of sources. GESI excels at wading through this mountain of seemingly disconnected information to produce the `gems` that will provide answers to critical business questions. Historically, accounting and manufacturing data have existed in parallel worlds without any connection. GESI has successfully designed, built, and implemented systems to `mine` relevant data from the shop floor (via either PLC or SCADA systems), manufacturing systems (MRP), and accounting systems and combine the information in such a way as to produce a product whose combined value is greater than that of the individual parts.
