Clean water is critically important to vineyards and wineries, from irrigation, to efficiency and infrastructure. Understanding how algae blooms can impact your business will better help you identify and resolve issues.

Nutrient loading into our lakes and reservoirs is becoming more and more obvious with every passing year. Toxic algae bloom warnings are now common in places that they have not been observed before. Methods of remediation include applications of chemicals into the water systems. which may prove harmful. Furthermore, many traditional chemical applications speed up the recycling processes of phosphates and nitrates and cause subsequent blooms to be larger and more unmanageable than the previous one.

Removing algae from wastewater is imperative in water treatment processes. Algae growth can have significant impact on the facility’s infrastructure if left untreated and have huge public health risks.

Water hazards, lakes and ponds add a challenge for the player, but also lend to the beauty of the game. Keeping ponds and water features clear of algae and biofilm keep the course beautiful and inviting for both guests and wildlife. Our chemical free, environmentally safe algae management systems can help enhance your course’s natural aesthetic.

Marinas and Boat Docks have a serious need to keep algae under control. Algae can have terrible, costly impacts for boat owners. In some cases, a boat may be tagged due to an algae outbreak and may be prohibited from entering other water bodies. Furthermore, algae can also stain the hull, decrease performance, or even clog an outboard motor.

The maintenance on a decorative fountain or pond of any size is tremendous. Due to algae, biofilm, and other bacteria, these systems need constant flushing and cleaning. E. Coli and Salmonella can be EASILY transmitted from fountain generated mist into the system of a passerby.

Harmful algae blooms in fish farms and hatcheries are bad news. Because algae can be toxic to people and wildlife, it must be addressed quickly. Wild marine fish can swim away from these blooms with ease, however, when an aquaculture operation is overtaken, the fish can’t escape.

Water is used for the extraction of minerals in mining that may be in the form of solids, such as coal, iron, sand, and gravel; liquids, such as crude petroleum; and gases, such as natural gas. Often times, mining operations use microalgae biofilm as a tool for water clean-up. Under certain conditions, this may contribute to a HAB or Harmful Algae Bloom being formed.

Having quality water where you need it and when you need it is crucial for all farms. Agricultural water sources are imperative for healthy crops and livestock. When algae is present, it can create a huge loss for your business. Irrigation water is vulnerable to blue-green algae blooms during peak summer months. These blooms may become toxic to humans and animals and can certainly reduce the germination rate of seeds and growth.

Swimming pools must be adequately maintained to ensure swimmers’ safety. Algae in pools can cause harmful skin irritations, bacterial infections and even physical injury. Whether its residential or commercial, no one wants to swim in a cloudy pool.
