Intrasorp - Liquid Activated Carbon for Pollutant Control

Intrasorp is a colloidal liquid activated carbon suspension developed in 2004 at the Helmholtz UFZ Leipzig, a top environmental research center in Europe. Specializing in the control of pollutant plumes, this product is specifically designed to create sorption barriers for a wide array of organic pollutants. Known for its high mobility during subsoil injection and permanent deposition capabilities within target zones, Intrasorp has a proven track record of effectively preventing pollutant spread and permanently immobilizing source zones. It boasts a high adsorption capacity tailored for various organic pollutants and has been successfully applied even in complex conditions like sites with ongoing operations and dense pipe networks. The product is distributed throughout Europe and represents a reliable solution for sophisticated environmental remediation projects.

Aquaferrox - Colloidally Stabilized Iron Oxide for Contaminant Immobilization

Aquaferrox is a colloidally stabilized goethite-based solution utilized for in-situ groundwater treatment, capable of immobilizing heavy metals and metalloids. This treatment involves injecting specially prepared goethite particles into subsurface aquifers to form an adsorption barrier. The formulations include iron oxide aggregates stabilized in colloidal form, achieving higher adsorption capacities than conventional iron oxides even at low pH levels. The surfaces of Aquaferrox particles maintain a net-negative charge, allowing effective adsorption of dissolved anions such as arsenic complexes. Temporary pH fluctuations in groundwater pose minimal impact on its performance. The Aquaferrox suspension, comprising ~2 μm goethite aggregates and an organic stabilizer, mirrors the ionic strength and conductivity of natural groundwaters. This environmentally safe solution offers an efficient alternative to energy-intensive remediation methods like pump-and-treat, excavation, or soil washing.

CarboIron - Micron-Sized Composite Material for Pollutant Removal

CarboIron is a micron-sized composite material integrating zerovalent iron with activated carbon, designed for effective remediation of contaminated groundwater. This patented substance facilitates the adsorption and removal of pollutants, capitalizing on the activated carbon to draw contaminants out of groundwater flow and securing them with reactive zerovalent iron cores. Notably, it is non-pyrophoric during handling and demonstrates substantial migration across porous media when injected. Additionally, it aids in the elimination of free pollutant phases and enables comprehensive, vinyl chloride-free dehalogenation. Developed by the Helmholtz Center for Environmental Research – UFZ in Leipzig, CarboIron represents a notable advancement in chlorinated hydrocarbon source remediation, creating reactive zones within groundwater currents. It's specifically suited for reductive in-situ dehalogenation processes targeting compounds like PCE and TCE.

TrapOx - Contaminant Degradation System

TrapOx is an innovative system designed for in-situ treatment of groundwater contaminants using a two-step zeolite-based process. It targets a variety of organic pollutants including MTBE, phenols, PAHs, and halogenated hydrocarbons such as dichloromethane and chlorobenzenes. Nitroaromatic compounds and TPHs are also addressed. The process begins with the injection of an iron-zeolite matrix, creating a reactive zone that traps pollutants. Subsequently, hydrogen peroxide is added and activated to produce hydroxyl radicals through a catalyst, enhancing pollutant degradation. The core reaction mechanism is based on the Fenton reaction, optimizing the production of reactive species for effective contaminant breakdown. TrapOx demonstrates its effectiveness not just in field applications but also in lab settings, showing significant decreases in pollutant concentration over time. It offers a sustainable solution for reducing hazardous contaminants in environments like petrol station sites, ensuring levels are kept below regulatory thresholds.

Intraplex - Activated Carbon for PFAS Remediation

Intraplex® is a sophisticated solution engineered to combat the presence of stubborn pollutants such as PFAS, often referred to as 'perpetual chemicals,' in contaminated soil and groundwater. The product is an activated carbon suspension designed to be injected directly into affected aquifers, creating a durable adsorption barrier that can significantly reduce pollutant levels, sometimes by 98%. This system offers a more cost-effective and long-term alternative to traditional cleaning methods like pump and treat systems. Developed through rigorous R&D, the activated carbon boasts a high surface area tailored for effective PFAS adsorption, demonstrating its efficiency in large-scale field applications such as international airports. Intraplex® not only meets stringent regulatory standards but is also shown to possess a superior adsorption capacity, especially for PFOS, when compared to other market alternatives, offering a solution that balances quality, efficiency, and durability.
