James Brinkley Company products
Agitators
Side Insert Agitators
The James Brinkley Company side insert agitators have evolved over the years while retaining the attributes that they are known for: Strength and Simplicity of design. They come in sizes from 18” to 72” in diameter.
Vertical Agitators
The James Brinkley Company vertical agitators are two or three times more efficient than side insert agitators. This is because vertical units are large propellers operating at low speeds, providing more pumped flow for the same horsepower. Vertical agitators also avoid a stuffing box, which is the significant problem in side insert units.
Cross Shaft Agitators
Cross shaft agitators are used in couch and press pits, and for dry end repulping. For cross shaft agitators, sizing is dictated by machine tonnage and where the paper is, that is, whether the pit is a couch pit or press pit. Machine width and agitator size then dictate pit dimensions. Dry end repulping with cross shaft agitators is effective only on lighter grades of paper such as tissue.
Bale Handling Systems
Stacked Bale Storage Conveyors
Generally the first unit in a line, this conveyor accepts bale stacks from a clamp or fork truck and stores a specified number of stacks so that they can be processed. Lift truck approach is sensed by a magnetic loop sensor which readies the conveyor. Bale stacks are incrementally advanced by the conveyor and the drive is forward-reverse to ensure close proximity of stacks and stack availability to the next unit in line.
Bale Stack Downenders
The Downender accepts a bale stack either directly or from the stacked bale storage conveyor. It then rotates it to a horizontal position and conveys it to the next unit. It is hydraulically operated with an integral 5 HP hydraulic power unit and is rotated on a pivot by Parker hydraulic cylinders, operating at 1500 PSI.
Roll Handling Systems
Shuttle Conveyors
Shuttle conveyors consist of recessed floor track containing roll shuttle carts. These conveyors are often used to load rolls into sheeters. The carts transfer rolls axially. Shuttles can be motorized or manual.
