KSAT is the global leader in providing ground station network services including Telemetry, Tracking and Commanding (TT&C) and Data Acquisition services, with experience all the way back to 1967. With a large number of sites and antennas available, KSAT provides the very high reliability that is needed for critical support of satellite operations.

KSAT is a world leading provider of Telemetry, Tracking and Command (TT&C) for Polar Orbiting satellites. KSAT has the unique capability to provide satellite support for all orbits from one single ground station (SvalSat) combined with our long-term experience and technical know-how of supporting satellites. KSAT has performed TT&C for a long list of missions and customers since 1967. KSAT always strives for customer satisfaction and is dedicated in our effort to be a flexible service provider offering custom-made solutions.

KSAT`s global network of ground stations, anchored by large facilities at both poles and supplemented with a network of additional mid-latitude antennas, supports most of the commercial satellites in orbit. We can receive data at least twice per orbit for most satellites and provide imagery from low and high-resolution optical and radar data. We are an independent service provider who will work with you to select the most appropriate satellite options. Our skilled analysts, processing facilities, and data distribution mechanisms have been designed and developed explicitly for very fast deliveries of data to customers with operational needs.  Our physical assets and our experienced staff allow us to provide `near-real-time` operational information, often within 30 minutes.

Kongsberg Satellite Services (KSAT) provides operational oil spill detection services based on radar images from satellites. Use of Synthetic Aperture Radar sensor (SAR) from satellites has proven to be an excellent tool to  detect oil slicks, vessels and installations at sea, thus being an efficient tool to assist national authorities in detecting oil discharges and locate potential polluters.  KSAT has provided this operational early warning service to customers since 1996, and in Europe use of satellites for oil spill detection is well established and well integrated within the national and regional oil pollution surveillance and response chains.

The historical shelter of the high seas is increasingly less accommodating for activities such as unauthorized fishing, piracy, and smuggling as the vast expanses and remote locations which have traditionally been impossible to monitor fall under the surveillance of satellites.
