Activated Sludge Operations Webinar - October 28, 30, November 4, 6

The webinar (multiple 2-hr sessions - 2 sessions first 3 days, 1 session on last day) is structured for operators and managers of activated sludge plants. It is operations oriented providing practical information to use in day-to-day operations. Participants will receive an operations manual for activated sludge treatment systems. This will be presented over 7 sessions spread out over 4 days to cover all of the material. CEUs are awarded (1.4). On-demand recordings can be made available in case sessions(s) ar emitted due to work or other conflicts.

Troubleshooting Activated Sludge Operations Training Webinar - November 18, 20, 2025

This webinar ((multiple 2-hr sessions - 2 sessions each day) is for attendees to evaluate their treatment system and develop a list of opportunities to improve and optimize their plant operation. This course is for experienced operators and managers of activated sludge plants. A microscopic floc assessment including filament identification should be conducted prior to the workshop so you know the present sludge quaility conditions that can be applied in the workshop. Topics include: symptoms, causes and cures for filamentous bulking, slime bulking and foaming; selectors and step feed; operating secondary clarifiers, developing operating plans and troubleshooting charts. CEUs will be awarded (0.7). On-demand recordings can be made available in case sessions(s) ar emitted due to work or other conflicts.

Aerated Stabilization Basins - Q4, 2025

This webinar (multiple 2-hr sessions - 2 sessions per day) is for operators, technicians, engineers and managers of aerated stabilization basins. Biological treatment concepts for ASBs will be reviewed. Effluent treatment plant microbiology (filamentous and non-filamentous) will be related to ASB performance. Management and operation of the key control elements, aeration and nutrients for ASBs will be discussed. ASB troubleshooting will be discussed with problems and possible solutions for each problem. It is operations oriented providing practical information for day-to-day operation. The webinar will presented over four 2-hr sessions over 2 different days. CEUs will be awarded (0.8).

Using the Microscope to Evaluate Process - TBD - 1 - 2 sessions late summer/early fall

This 2-day workshop is hands-on and designed to review the proper phase contrast microscope operation, proper floc sizing and classifying, classifying protozoa/metazoa, filament abundance and identification and identifying other organisms seen in activated sludge. The microbiology will be related to process. Samples brought to class will be viewed and evaluated. Class size will be limited based on number of microscopes available (20 max). This class can be presented at your own treatment plant. Due due the pandemic, general workshops will be scheduled when it is safe to gather for training.
