Materials Analytical Services, LLC (MAS) services

Recognized as the industry leader, we provide asbestos bulk, water and air analysis for customers throughout the world. Our scientists are frequently requested to speak and teach at environmental training courses and have played a vital role in shaping the standards and regulations for today’s asbestos analysis protocols. We utilize ASTM, EPA, AHERA, ISO, NIOSH 7400 and NIOSH 7402 methodologies, among others. MAS is in compliance with International Standard ISO/IEC 17025.

Our Mold Department provides both viable and non-viable analysis supervised by a PhD Microbiologist. We offer turnaround times from 5 days to same-day service, as well as weekend analysis for non-viables. MVOC analysis is also available (see IH Chemistry). We can also create custom reports that are available online or via e-mail.

MAS is a recognized leader in the field of Industrial Hygiene and specialty analysis. MAS offers a full suite of IH chemistry services from initial assessments to sampling and testing. Our Atlanta laboratory is fully equipped to handle any IH analysis.

Our Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) group advises clients on indoor pollutants such as VOCs, fumes, odors, respirable dust and particulates.

MAS has developed a proprietary analytical methodology for identification of sulfur gas producing Chinese drywall. MAS, a world leader in forensic construction materials analysis, has developed a proprietary analytical methodology for identification of sulfur gas producing Chinese drywall. Unique to this method is the submission of small 2` x 2` drywall samples (resulting in less damage, quicker sampling and easier repairs). With minimum invasive sampling, one can detect corrosion causing drywall and pin-point its location inside an impacted home - vastly reducing the need for unnecessary demolition.

MAS is approved by the CPSC as a certified laboratory to assist manufacturers, importers, distributors and retailers to meet Consumer Products Safety Information Act (CPSIA) obligations. We provide phthalate testing of toys and childcare products, as well as other SVOC Content testing.
