McLanahan - Attrition Cells/Scrubbers
Attrition Cells are designed to scrub the surfaces of particulates, liberate deleterious materials and break down pretend particulates associated with durability, such as hard-pan clays. The top size of the feed is typically of up to 1/2” (12mm). Surface contaminants, such as clays, oxides and chemicals, are removed by particle-on-particle attrition generated by a series of rotating paddles inside the Attrition Cells that have been sized to suit the application. This style of scrubber is ideal for industrial (frac, glass, sports) and mineral sands to meet turbidity and color test requirements. They also allow more efficient downstream separation, such as in flotation and electrostatic/electromagnetic separation. Attrition Cells can handle high plasticity clays in high shear and aggressive scrubbing environments.
McLanahan - Blade Mills
Blade Mills, also known as Aggregate Conditioners, scour, abrade and break down water-soluble silts and deleterious clays from contaminated ores, coarse rock or sand feeds. They are most often placed ahead of wash screens to improve screening efficiencies or in front of other wash equipment to improve the Sand Equivalency (SE). Despite being very similar in appearance to Coarse Material Screw Washers, Blade Mills process material differently. For instance, all material that enters the box, must exit through the discharge opening as there is no overflow weir. Without an overflow weir, material must be discharged into another piece of process equipment and cannot be put on a conveyor belt.
McLanahan - Cone Crushers
A Cone Crusher is a compression type of machine that reduces material by squeezing or compressing the feed material between a moving piece of steel and a stationary piece of steel. Final sizing and reduction is determined by the closed side setting or the gap between the two crushing members at the lowest point. As the wedge or eccentric rotates to cause the compression within the chamber, the material gets smaller as it moves down through the wear liner as the opening in the cavity gets tighter. The crushed material is discharged at the bottom of the machine after they pass through the cavity. A Cone Crusher will deliver a 4:1 to 6:1 reduction ratio. As we set the closed side setting tighter to create a finer output, we also reduce the volume or throughput capacity of the machine. Generally speaking, multiplying the closed side setting by two is a good guide to the top size of the gradation exiting the machine.

McLanahan - Direct Drive Crushing Sizers (DDC)
Direct Drive Crushing Sizers, specifically McLanahan DDC-Sizers, provide primary, secondary and tertiary reduction of friable, low silica materials such as coal, salt, gypsum, phosphate, limestone, bauxite, petroleum coke, lignite, trona, carbon anodes, oil sands, clay, shale and more. DDC-Sizers have a direct drive arrangement and low-profile design that allows wheel mounting for a movable configuration. The preferred method of installation is to mount the unit on rails with a non-rigid connection between the feed and discharge chutes. Since the drives are attached to the mainframe of the sizer, the entire unit can be rolled out from the feed stream to facilitate maintenance.
McLanahan - Dewatering Screens
Dewatering Screens have a wide variety of applications, including dewatering, desliming, degritting, rinsing, scrubbing, sizing and washing. They are designed to produce a consistent drip-free product and handle materials such as sand, gravel, crushed aggregates, frac sand, industrial sands, mineral sands, hard rock, precious metals ore, coal, iron ore, salt and other granular materials. Surface moisture as low as 8% has been experienced with Dewatering Screens; however, final moisture is dependent on surface area, surface morphology, and contact angle. Finer materials, such as those processed in fines recovery systems where the material is 100% passing 100 mesh (150µm), will dewater to a drip-free consistency, which conveys and stacks, but may have a surface moisture content of more than 20%.
McLanahan - Feeder-Breakers
Feeder-Breakers utilize a horizontal crushing roll and chain-and-flight drag conveyor to process a variety of run-of-mine minerals. They perform primary size reduction and meter the flow of material by properly loading the belt conveyor at a controlled rate. These units transfer the mined material from the haulage equipment to the discharge point, providing storage capacity and minimizing cycle times. McLanahan Feeder-Breakers come in a variety of configurations and designs for use underground and above. They are particularly useful in underground and open pit mining of coal, lignite, salt, gypsum and other friable minerals and in the processing of coke from delayed coker units.

McLanahan - Feeders
Feeders are devices used to control and meter the flow of materials to meet the specified flow rate of the crushing system or process system. They are the first step in designing a crushing/process system to meet the goals required. Several types of feeders can be used in a crushing/process system. They are selected to suit the material, feed rates and pre-sorting. The feeder decides the magnitude of the load on the crushing/process system. Therefore, the handling system load condition and thereby its performance is controlled by the feeder.
McLanahan - Filter Presses
Filter Presses dewater and separate liquids and solids in a wide range of applications. Due to their versatility and reliability, Filter Presses are one of the most widely used pieces of equipment in liquid-solid separation. They dewater material and separate liquids and solids by pumping the slurry into a series of empty chambers that are formed by the plates of the filter press. Each plate is lined with filter media, which determines what particles are dewatered and separated from the liquid. McLanahan Filter Presses provide customers in many industries with proven technology that is capable of producing a drip-free cake from mining and aggregate tailings, mineral concentrates, and a wide range of waste materials through mechanical dewatering.
McLanahan - Hammermill Crushers
Hammermill Crushers are known for providing greater reduction ratios in a variety of materials for the aggregate and industrial markets. The Universal HammerMaster and LimeMaster are available in several model sizes and focused on the aggregate industry. Universal Industrial Hammermills are available in three different styles of mills and numerous model sizes in each style. The heavy-duty, rugged construction of all Universal Hammermills allow for greater applied forces to achieve higher production rates with controlled product top size and gradation.
